It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sulaiman bin Surad (may Allah be pleased with him), who was a companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that two men quarreled in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). One of them became angry, and his anger was so intense that the expression on his face changed and he swelled up. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I know a word; if this person were to say it, surely his anger would go away." So a man (Sayyiduna Mu'adh, may Allah be pleased with him) went to him and told him what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had said, and said: Seek refuge with Allah from the evil of the accursed devil. The man replied: Do you think I am sick? Am I mad? Go away.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues: ➊ Satan circulates within a human being like blood, and he never misses an opportunity to misguide him. At times of quarrel and conflict, he incites intense anger and makes one heedless of the consequences so that a person may take a wrong step. Therefore, at such times, one should seek refuge with Allah Almighty from the evil of the accursed Satan. ➋ Hafiz Ibn Hajar rahimahullah has written that from the response of this person, it is understood that he was either a disbeliever or a hypocrite, or else, due to intense anger, he had lost his senses to the extent that he rebuked the one offering him advice. He thought that seeking refuge from the evil of Satan is only done in the case of illness.
