Hadith 392

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: ﴿فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَصْلِحُوا ذَاتَ بَيْنِكُمْ﴾ [الأنفال: 1]، قَالَ: هَذَا تَحْرِيجٌ مِنَ اللهِ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنْ يَتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَنْ يُصْلِحُوا ذَاتَ بَيْنِهِمْ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), regarding the statement of Allah Almighty: «﴿فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَصْلِحُوا ذَاتَ بَيْنِكُمْ﴾» [الأنفال: 1] "Fear Allah and make peace among yourselves," he said: In this, Allah Almighty has made it obligatory upon the believers that they must fear Allah in all circumstances and make peace in their mutual affairs.

Benefits and Issues:
The point is that Muslims should refrain from oppressing and quarreling with one another, because the knowledge and religion that Allah Ta’ala has granted them is far better than this world, which is the cause of discord among people. There is no allowance for this among the people of faith.
