حَدَّثَنَا أَصْبَغُ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مَخْرَمَةُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ يُقَبِّلُ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، وَهِيَ ابْنَةُ سَنَتَيْنِ أَوْ نَحْوَهُ.
It is narrated from Bukair, may Allah have mercy on him, that he saw Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Ja'far, may Allah be pleased with them both, kissing Zainab bint Umar bin Abi Salamah while she was about two years old.

Benefits and Issues:
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Ja'far radi Allahu anhu is counted among the younger Companions (Sahabah). The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam loved him very much. His kissing of the small girl is evidence that if there is no fear of desire or temptation, then it is permissible to kiss small children.
