Narrated from Sayyida Asma bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you about the best among you?" The companions said: "Why not?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Those whom, when you see them, you are reminded of Allah." Then he said: "Shall I not tell you who the worst among you are?" The companions said: "Why not, do tell us." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The slanderers, those who create discord among loved ones, and those who cause trouble and difficulties for innocent people are the worst."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues:
➊ The best people are those in whom humility and tranquility are evident in their appearance, speech, and way of life. Whoever sees them is spontaneously reminded of Allah, thinking how obedient this servant is to Allah. Another meaning is that whenever they were seen, Allah’s words were on their tongues and their hearts were engaged in the remembrance of Allah. They were found mentioning Allah’s commands and prohibitions, and His lawful (halal) and unlawful (haram) matters.

➋ To cause corruption in society through tale-bearing, to sow discord and strife among people who are otherwise united and harmonious, to entangle innocent and honorable people in problems, to disturb their peace, to push them towards sin, or to involve them in illegitimate cases—these are the worst deeds, and those who do such things are among the worst people. Allah, the Exalted, has declared in the Noble Qur’an that causing corruption is even worse than killing. ()
