Benefits and Issues:
This refers to a person who associates with each of two opposing individuals or groups in such a way that each considers him a friend. In this manner, he conveys the secrets of each to the other, thereby betraying both sides and deriving benefit from each through his treachery. Such a person is not worthy of trust. In the Noble Qur’an, this is precisely the behavior described of the hypocrites. In our language, such a person is called "ibn al-waqt" (opportunist).
