Hadith 312

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ‏:‏ ”لَيْسَ الْمُؤْمِنُ بِالطَّعَّانِ، وَلاَ اللِّعَانِ، وَلاَ الْفَاحِشِ وَلاَ الْبَذِي‏.‏“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), who reports from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: "A believer is not one who curses excessively, is immoral, or uses obscene language."

Benefits and Issues:
It is not an evil example for a believer that there may be some such trait in him which tarnishes his character and morals. He strives for his own rectification. He does not sling mud at anyone and is cautious in his speech and actions. Along with patience and forbearance, he also guards his tongue.
