Hadith 303

Narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was the most beautiful of all people, the most generous of all people, and the bravest of all people. One night, the people of Madinah were frightened, so the people went towards the sound, and they saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) coming from the front. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had gone alone before the people towards the direction from which the sound had come, and he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was saying: "There is nothing to fear, do not be afraid." He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was riding the horse of Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) without a saddle, and there was a sword hanging around his neck. Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I found this horse to be as fast as the sea." Or, "Indeed, it is certainly like the sea."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues:
➊ The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) possessed all praiseworthy qualities. In beauty and elegance, generosity and openhandedness, and bravery, you attained perfection in every aspect, and whoever possesses these noble qualities will be the owner of a pure soul.
➋ Your going alone towards the direction of the dangerous sound is proof of your perfect courage and bravery. Otherwise, in such situations, even great brave men become anxious. From this, it is also understood that you were extremely alert and aware of circumstances and conditions, and never displayed any kind of negligence.
➌ From this, it is understood that in an emergency situation, it is permissible to use whatever weapon or mount is at hand.
➍ The horse of Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (radi Allahu anhu) was famous for its slowness, but due to the blessing of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), its slowness disappeared and it became faster than all other horses, to the extent that afterwards no horse could compete with it.
➎ In this is a mention of the great miracle of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
