Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues: ➊ Shaykh al-Albani rahimahullah states that in the saying of Sayyiduna Amr ibn al-As radi Allahu anhu, the phrase (inda Allah) "with Allah" means that generally, when a person abuses another, he considers it insignificant, because most of the time he is responding to some misconduct or, in his view, he is oppressed. However, with Allah, this is not insignificant. Sayyiduna Amr ibn al-As radi Allahu anhu has explained that this is a major sin (kabirah). ➋ Becoming the cause for one's parents to be abused is itself equivalent to abusing them. ➌ Implicitly, this also includes that if a person compels his parents to do something for which people abuse them, or he himself does something because of which people speak ill of him and his parents, for example: urinating on the road, etc.
