حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: أَتَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى بَعْضِ نِسَائِهِ وَمَعَهُنَّ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ، فَقَالَ: ”يَا أَنْجَشَةُ، رُوَيْدًا سَوْقَكَ بِالْقَوَارِيرِ.“ قَالَ أَبُو قِلابَةَ: فَتَكَلَّمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِكَلِمَةٍ لَوْ تَكَلَّمَ بِهَا بَعْضُكُمْ لَعُبْتُمُوهَا عَلَيْهِ، قَوْلُهُ: ”سَوْقَكَ بِالْقَوَارِيرِ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to some of his wives, and among them was Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "O Anjasha! Drive gently with the glass vessels." The narrator of the hadith, Abu Qilabah, said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave such an instruction that if any of you had said it, you would not have considered it good. What I mean is his saying: "Carry the glass vessels with care."

Benefits and Issues:
➊ The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was on a journey, and his wives were with him. They were riding on camels, and your servant Anjasha was driving the camels. He began to recite poetry (huda), so the camels started moving quickly. Due to the delicate nature of women, you likened them to glass vessels and said, “Do not break these glass vessels,” meaning do not drive them too fast lest the women be harmed. The humorous aspect in this was that you likened women to glass vessels. Apparently, this statement may seem contrary to dignity, but due to the exalted status of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), no one could take a wrong meaning from it.
➋ From this, it is understood that sometimes the nature of humor changes depending on the individuals involved, and similarly, the nature of jest changes depending on the circumstances.
➌ It is permissible to joke with friends, provided that it does not involve insulting anyone, nor should it include backbiting or obscene speech, because such jokes breed malice and hatred.
➍ “Carry the glass vessels with care”—this can also mean: do not put them to trial with your beautiful voice, because women are easily affected.
