Benefits and Issues:
➊ “From whom consultation is sought” means that when someone is consulted out of trust, he should, acting with goodwill, give correct and proper advice and should not betray the trust of the one seeking consultation.
➋ Abu al-Haytham radi Allahu anhu was a Badri Companion. When he sought advice from the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he advised him to select a slave who performs prayer (is a worshipper), and at the same time emphasized treating him well. From this, it is understood that even when searching for a servant or helper, preference should be given to a religious person, even if another person is more skilled in the work. Similarly, if an employee is one who performs prayer, he should be treated with even greater kindness compared to others.
➌ If a spouse is good and righteous, it becomes very easy for a person to do good deeds, and if a man falls short, she guides him correctly and saves him from going astray. On the contrary, if the wife is bad, then even if one wishes, the paths to goodness become blocked. For this reason, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has commanded that at the time of choosing a wife, her religiosity should be given preference. The wife of Abu al-Haytham radi Allahu anhu advised her husband to free the slave, because this is the highest form of good treatment, and true kindness is only possible in this way.
➍ From this hadith, it is understood that one should pray to Allah for good friends and good family members, and consultation should be sought from those who are pious and God-fearing, and who, along with being trustworthy, also have the fear of Allah in their hearts.
