Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues:
➊ Every action that is considered good in the view of the Shari‘ah is called ma‘ruf (good deed), whether or not it is regarded as good in the eyes of people.
➋ “Is charity (sadaqah)”—that is, every good deed, in terms of reward, is like charity (sadaqah). A good deed is called charity because the one who performs it affirms (tasdiq) the promise of Allah which He has made to His servants regarding the reward for good deeds. Ibn Battal has said that its meaning is that for every good deed, the reward of charity is written for a person.
➌ This hadith encourages performing good deeds, no matter what they may be, as is mentioned in another hadith:
((LĀ TAḤQIRANNA MINA AL-MA‘RŪFI SHAY’Ā)) (Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2626)
“Do not consider any act of goodness, no matter how small, to be insignificant.”
