It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to advise kindness and good treatment towards slaves and would say: "Feed them with what you eat yourself, and clothe them with what you wear yourself, and do not torment the creation of Allah."
