Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), while advising good treatment of slaves, used to say: "Feed them with what you eat yourself, and clothe them with what you wear yourself, and do not torment the creation of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic."
