Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whom do you call 'Raqoob'?" They replied: The one who has no children is 'Raqoob'. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "In reality, 'La Walad' is the one who has not sent any of his children ahead."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues: In the Arabic language, "Raqoob" refers to a man or woman whose children do not remain alive. This is derived from "Raqeeb," because they too are in anticipation of the child's death. From a worldly perspective, undoubtedly, "Raqoob" is one who is childless, but due to being deserving of such a great reward, in the true sense, he is considered as one who has children. This is because the worldly benefit of having children is far less than its benefit in the Hereafter. And whoever is deprived of the reward of the Hereafter, in reality, he is the one who is truly deprived and childless. This hadith also encourages patience.
