حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ قَالَ: كَانَ عُثْمَانُ لاَ يَخْطُبُ جُمُعَةً إِلاَّ أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِ الْكِلاَبِ، وَذَبْحِ الْحَمَامِ. ¤ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُبَارَكٌ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عُثْمَانَ يَأْمُرُ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ بِقَتْلِ الْكِلابِ، وَذَبْحِ الْحَمَامِ.
It is narrated from Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) used to certainly give the command to kill dogs and to slaughter pigeons in every Friday sermon. In another narration from Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him), it is reported that Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) used to give the command to kill dogs and to slaughter pigeons in his sermon.
