Hadith 1287

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the most false of speech. Do not spy on one another, nor compete with one another in the world. Do not turn your backs on one another, nor envy one another, nor bear malice, and become, O servants of Allah, brothers to one another."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues:
In the hadith, "suspicion" refers to evil suspicion, because good suspicion is desirable. Evil suspicion is when, upon seeing a person somewhere, one says that he must have gone there for such-and-such wrongdoing. This is a satanic whispering. A Muslim should have good suspicion about one another.
