It is narrated from Sayyiduna Muawiyah bin Qurrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when my son Iyas was born, I invited a group of the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and served them food. Then they made supplication (dua). I said: Indeed, you have made supplication; may Allah bless you in return for the supplication you have made. And now I will supplicate, and you say Ameen. They agreed. Then I made numerous supplications for him regarding his religion, intellect, and so on. He says: I saw the effect of the supplication made that day in him, meaning Allah made Iyas just as I had asked.
