It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Juhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man complained to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about his neighbor. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Pick up your belongings and place them on the road; whoever passes by will curse him." (He did as instructed) and whoever passed by would speak ill of him. The (troublesome neighbor) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: "What are these people doing to me? (Everyone is cursing me)." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Along with their curse, the curse of Allah is also upon you." (He promised not to do it again). Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to the complainant: "(Now pick up your belongings) you are free."
