It is narrated from Sa’ib bin Yazid (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Sometimes some people of the Quraysh would sit at the door of Sayyiduna Ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) (in order to learn something). When the shadow would decline, he would say: Get up, now the remaining time is for Satan. Then, whoever he passed by, he would make them get up strictly. In this way, he was making people get up when he was told: This is the slave of Banu Hassas who recites poetry. He called him and asked: What poetry have you recited? He said:
If you have decided to travel early in the morning, then leave Salimi, for old age and the religion of Islam are sufficient to prevent a person from evil.
He (Umar) said: That is enough, you have spoken the truth, you have spoken the truth.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues: ➊ From this, it is understood that one should certainly take a midday nap (qaylulah). The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "Take a midday nap, for indeed Shaytan does not take a midday nap." (al-Saheehah: 1647) ➋ It is not necessary to sleep for qaylulah; merely resting is also sufficient. ➌ The meaning of the verse is that if a person is a Muslim and then old age also comes upon him, then committing sins is in no way befitting. Sin is a sin in every stage of life, but when one's hair turns white, a person should feel ashamed to tread the path of disobedience.
