It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he disliked making animals fight with each other.

Benefits and Issues: ➊ This hadith is also narrated in a marfu‘ form from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhuma) that the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) forbade inciting animals to fight one another. (Abu Dawud) When it is prohibited to incite animals to fight, then how grave a crime it must be to incite people, especially Muslims, to fight among themselves. ➋ In the present era, dog fights and cockfights are also prohibited and futile activities, from which it is necessary to abstain.
