It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever among the Muslims adheres to two things will certainly enter Paradise. Both are easy, but those who act upon them are few." It was asked: O Messenger of Allah! What are they? He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "After every prayer, one of you should say Allahu Akbar ten times, Alhamdulillah ten times, and SubhanAllah ten times. This makes one hundred and fifty on the tongue and one thousand five hundred on the scale." I saw that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was counting them on his fingers, "and when he goes to his bed, he should say (thirty-three times) SubhanAllah, (thirty-three times) Alhamdulillah, and (thirty-four times) Allahu Akbar, so this will be one hundred on the tongue and one thousand on the scale. Who among you commits twenty-five hundred sins in a day and night?" It was asked: O Messenger of Allah! How can a person not act upon them? He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Satan comes to one of you during his prayer and reminds him of other tasks, so he forgets these tasbihat."
