Hadith 1165

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ دِهْقَانَ قَالَ‏:‏ رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ جَالِسًا عَلَى سَرِيرِ عَرُوسٍ، عَلَيْهِ ثِيَابٌ حُمْرُ‏.‏
It is narrated from Musa bin Dehqan (may Allah have mercy on him) that I saw Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) sitting on the bridal throne while he was wearing red clothes.

Benefits and Issues:
The chain of narration of this report is weak; in it, the narrator Musa ibn Dihqan is weak. However, it is permissible for men to wear red striped clothing, provided that it is not resembling that of women.
