It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), he sat on the throne with the governor of Basra, Hakam bin Abu Aqil Thaqafi, and said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would delay the (Zuhr) prayer in the heat, making it cooler (by praying it a bit later), and when it was cold, he would pray early.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues: According to the majority of scholars, if there is intense heat, it is permissible and even preferable to delay the Zuhr prayer somewhat. However, this does not mean that the time for the prayer should be allowed to pass. As for the rest of the prayers, it is preferable to perform them at their earliest time. However, it is also preferable to delay the ‘Isha prayer. (Bukhari: 571)
