بَابُ الْجُلُوسِ عَلَى السَّرِيرِChapter: Sitting on a bed

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ قَالَ: جَلَسْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَلَى سَرِيرٍ. ¤ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي جَمْرَةَ قَالَ: كُنْتُ أَقْعُدُ مَعَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فَكَانَ يُقْعِدُنِي عَلَى سَرِيرِهِ، فَقَالَ لِي: أَقِمْ عِنْدِي حَتَّى أَجْعَلَ لَكَ سَهْمًا مِنْ مَالِي، فَأَقَمْتُ عِنْدَهُ شَهْرَيْنِ.
It is narrated from Abu Al-Aliyah (may Allah have mercy on him), he says: I was sitting on a couch with Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).
It is narrated from Abu Jamrah (may Allah have mercy on him) that I used to sit with Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), and he would seat me on his couch. Once he said: Stay with me until I allocate a portion for you from my wealth. So I stayed with him for two months.

Benefits and Issues:
Abu Jamrah rahimahullah says that when I intended to perform Hajj al-Tamattu', people forbade me from it. So I asked Ibn Abbas radi Allahu anhuma, and he instructed me to go ahead and perform it. Afterwards, I saw in a dream that someone was telling me, "Your Hajj has been accepted and your 'Umrah has also been accepted." I narrated this dream to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas radi Allahu anhuma, and he, pleased with me, said that his Hajj and 'Umrah have been accepted. He said this statement to me. It is also understood from this that sitting on a throne (raised seat) is permissible.
