حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الطُّفَيْلِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ: كُنَّا إِذَا أَتَيْنَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَلَسَ أَحَدُنَا حَيْثُ انْتَهَى.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) that when we used to come to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), we would sit wherever we found a place.

Benefits and Issues:
Many people have the habit of arriving late but still wanting to sit at the front, as is commonly seen in gatherings. Doing so is contrary to proper etiquette.
