Hadith 1128

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There was a man from the Children of Israel - then he mentioned a long hadith - and he wrote to his companion as follows: From so-and-so to so-and-so."

Benefits and Issues:
The chain of narration of this report is weak due to ‘Umar ibn Abi Salamah. This narration is found in Sahih al-Bukhari both in a suspended (mu‘allaq) form and, through another chain, in a connected (mawsul) form. (See Fath al-Bari: 4/470 and 3/363. Bukhari: 2063)
