Benefits and Issues:
If a shop is open and one intends to purchase something, it is permissible to enter without seeking permission. However, if one merely intends to stand inside, then it is necessary to seek permission so that their customers are not disturbed. Some scholars have stated that if the cash register or similar valuables are in plain view, then it is necessary to seek permission so that the confidentiality of their cash is not compromised.
