Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues:
➊ The incident of Umm Hani radi Allahu anha pertains to the Conquest of Makkah. She was performing ritual bath (ghusl) while Sayyidah Fatimah radi Allahu anha was providing a screen with a sheet.
➋ It is recommended (mustahabb) to say “welcome” or other words of honor and respect to someone entering the house.
➌ Women may greet (give salam to) non-mahram men provided there is no fear of temptation (fitnah), and especially there is no harm in greeting elders. However, where there is a risk of fitnah, one should refrain from giving salam.
