Hadith 1031

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ هَانِئِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ‏:‏ اسْتَأْذَنَ عَمَّارٌ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَعَرَفَ صَوْتَهُ، فَقَالَ‏:‏ ”مَرْحَبًا بِالطَّيِّبِ الْمُطَيَّبِ‏.‏“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) sought permission to come to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), recognizing his voice, said: "Welcome to the good and excellent person."
