حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى الْحَجَّاجِ فَمَا سَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I came to Hajjaj, but I did not greet him with salam.

Benefits and Issues:
Hajjaj ibn Yusuf was a tyrant and the killer of many Companions (Sahabah), which is why Sayyiduna Jabir radi Allahu anhu did not consider it appropriate to greet him with salam. This is because one should not offer salam to the disobedient, whether he is a leader or an ordinary person.
