It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), he said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by some people among whom was a man wearing khuluq (a saffron-colored fragrance). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) looked at them, greeted them with salam, and turned his face away from that man. The man said: "Have you turned your face away from me?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There is a burning coal of fire between his eyes."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues:
➊ "Khaluq" refers to that saffron-based fragrance whose color is prominent. It is permissible for women and impermissible for men. However, if it does not have color and only the scent of saffron is present, then there is no harm.
➋ It is permissible to be displeased with someone for the sake of Allah’s pleasure and to refrain from speaking to them. However, if severing ties leads that person further away from the religion, then instead of cutting off relations, one should maintain ties and guide them.
➌ A sign of faith is that a person dislikes sin and those who commit sin. However, it must be remembered that personal matters should not influence this dislike, such that one outwardly claims to hate for the sake of Allah while secretly harboring personal enmity.
