بَابُ مَنْ سَلَّمَ إِشَارَةًChapter: Greeting by gesture
Hadith 1002
حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هَيَّاجُ بْنُ بَسَّامٍ أَبُو قُرَّةَ الْخُرَاسَانِيُّ - رَأَيْتُهُ بِالْبَصْرَةِ - قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ أَنَسًا يَمُرُّ عَلَيْنَا فَيُومِئُ بِيَدِهِ إِلَيْنَا فَيُسَلِّمُ، وَكَانَ بِهِ وَضَحٌ. ¤ وَرَأَيْتُ الْحَسَنَ يَخْضُبُ بِالصُّفْرَةِ، وَعَلَيْهِ عِمَامَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ. ¤ وَقَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ: أَلْوَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى النِّسَاءِ بِالسَّلامِ.
It is narrated from Abu Qurrah Khurasani, he says: I saw Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when he would pass by us, he would gesture with his hand and say salam. And there were white spots on his body.
And I saw Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) that he used to apply yellow dye and he had a black turban on.
Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured with his hand while greeting women with salam.
