Chapter: On Sending A Person Carrying Good News.
Hadith 2772
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو تَوْبَةَ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :أَلَا تُرِيحُنِي مِنْ ذِي الْخَلَصَةِ فَأَتَاهَا فَحَرَّقَهَا ، ثُمَّ بَعَثَ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَحْمَسَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُبَشِّرُهُ يُكْنَى أَبَا أَرْطَاةَ .
Jarir (bin Abd Allaah) said “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me “Why do you not give me rest from Dhu Al Khulasah? He went there and burned it. He then sent a man from Ahmas to the Prophet ﷺ to give him good tidings. His surname was Artah.
