باب الْوُضُوءِ بِالنَّبِيذِ
Chapter: Wudu’ Using An-Nabidh.
Hadith 84
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ ، وَسُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْعَتَكِيُّ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي فَزَارَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ لَهُ لَيْلَةَ الْجِنِّ : " مَا فِي إِدَاوَتِكَ ؟ قَالَ : نَبِيذٌ . قَالَ : تَمْرَةٌ طَيِّبَةٌ وَمَاءٌ طَهُورٌ " ، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد : وقَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ : عَنْ أَبِي زَيْدٍ أَوْ زَيْدٍ كَذَا ، قَالَ شَرِيكٌ : وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ هَنَّادٌ لَيْلَةَ الْجِنِّ .
Narrated Abdullah ibn Masud: Abu Zayd quoted Abdullah ibn Masud as saying that on the night when the jinn listened to the Quran the Prophet ﷺ said: What is in your skin vessel? He said: I have some nabidh. He (the Holy Prophet) said: It consists of fresh dates and pure water. Sulayman ibn Dawud reported the same version of this tradition on the authority of Abu Zayd or Zayd. But Sharik said that Hammad did not mention the words "night of the jinn".
Hadith 85
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ : " مَنْ كَانَ مِنْكُمْ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةَ الْجِنِّ ؟ فَقَالَ : مَا كَانَ مَعَهُ مِنَّا أَحَدٌ " .
Narrated Alqamah: I asked Abd Allaah b Masud: Which of you was in the company of the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ on the night when the jinn attended him? He replied: None of us was with him.
Hadith 86
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، " أَنَّهُ كَرِهَ الْوُضُوءَ بِاللَّبَنِ وَالنَّبِيذِ ، وَقَالَ : إِنَّ التَّيَمُّمَ أَعْجَبُ إِلَيَّ مِنْهُ " .
It is reported that Ata did not approve of performing ablution with milk and nabidh and said: tayammum is more my liking (than performing ablution with milk and nabidh).
Hadith 87
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَلْدَةَ ، قَالَ : " سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْعَالِيَةِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ أَصَابَتْهُ جَنَابَةٌ وَلَيْسَ عِنْدَهُ مَاءٌ وَعِنْدَهُ نَبِيذٌ ، أَيَغْتَسِلُ بِهِ ؟ قَالَ : لَا " .
Narrated Abu Khaldah: I asked Abul-Aliyah whether a person who is sexually defiled and has no water with him, but he has only nabidh, can wash with it? He replied in the negative.
