Narrated Tamim ad-Dari: Tamim reported this tradition from the Prophet ﷺ as (Hadith No 863). This version adds: Then zakat will be considered in a similar way. Then all the actions will be considered accordingly.

866. Commentary:
That is, in all deeds, the obligatory acts (fara'id) will be examined first; if they are complete, then that is better, otherwise, the deficiencies in the obligatory acts will be compensated by the supererogatory (nafl) acts. For example, deficiencies in obligatory prayers (salah) will be compensated by supererogatory prayers, and deficiencies in obligatory zakah will be compensated by voluntary charity (sadaqah).
