Abu Dawud

1؎ : It is established that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) went to the jinn six times. The first incident occurred in Makkah, at which time Ibn Mas'ud (radi Allahu anhu) was not with him, as mentioned in Muslim and Tirmidhi in the commentary of Surah Al-Ahqaf. The second incident also took place in Makkah, on Mount Hajun. The third incident occurred in the upper part of Makkah, while the fourth was in Madinah at Baqi' al-Gharqad. On these three nights, Ibn Mas'ud (radi Allahu anhu) was with the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). The fifth incident took place outside Madinah during the Madinan period, and on this occasion, Zubair bin al-Awwam (radi Allahu anhu) was with him. The sixth incident occurred during one of the Prophet's (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) journeys, at which time Bilal bin al-Harith (radi Allahu anhu) was with him (see: Al-Kawkab ad-Durri Sharh at-Tirmidhi).
