Abd al Rahman bin Abza said that he offered prayer along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ but he did not complete the takbir. Abu Dawud said: This means that when he raised his head after bowing and when he was about to prostrate, he did not utter the takbir, and when he stood up after prostration, he did not utter the takbir.

It is narrated from Abu Dawud Tayalisi that this (view) is invalid according to us. [منذري]
The transitional takbirs (takbirat al-intiqal) are a continuous (mutawatir) practice of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
