Narrated Some Companions of the Prophet: Abu Salih reported on the authority of some Companions of the Prophet ﷺ: The Prophet ﷺ said to a person: what do you say in prayer? He replied: I first recite tashahhud (supplication recited in sitting position), and then I say: O Allah, I ask Thee for Paradise, and I seek refuge in Thee from Hell-Fire, but I do not understand your sound and the sound of Muadh (what you say or he says in prayer). The Prophet ﷺ said: We too go around it (paradise and Hell-fire).

Brief Explanation
1؎: The word «دندنہ» has appeared in the hadith, meaning that the humming of a person's voice is heard, but its meaning and content are not understood. Explanation: In «حولها», the pronoun in «ها» refers back to the statement of that person, meaning that our and Mu'adh's speech is also like your speech; its essence is also the seeking of Paradise and seeking refuge from Hell.

792. Commentary: ➊ This Companion used to perform brief prayers and supplications, and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam affirmed and approved of this. And Allah does not burden anyone beyond his capacity. ➋ The meaning of the word in the hadith «دَنْدَنَةَ» is that the humming of the voice should be perceptible, but the words should not be clear. ➌ Khatib al-Baghdadi has written that the name of the Companion radi Allahu anhu from whom the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam inquired about this was "Sulaym Ansari."
