Narrated Samurah ibn Jundub: I remember two period of silence in prayer, one when the imam said the takbir; and one when he finished reciting the Fatihah and the surah when he was about to bow. But Imran ibn Husayn took it as something strange. So they wrote about it to Ubayy (ibn Kab) in Madina. He verified the statement of Samurah. Abu Dawud said: Humaid also narrated in this tradition the words "and one period silence when he finished the recitation (of the Quran)"

The undersigned has established in "Nayl al-Maqsud" that the mu‘an‘an narration of Hasan al-Basri rahimahullah from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub radi Allahu anhu is also authentic, because this narration is from a book, which is either by way of munawalah, or ijazah, or by way of wijadah.
In the principles of hadith, in all three of these cases, narration and deduction are correct according to the preferred opinion, provided that the attribution of the book to the author is established with an authentic chain, and the copy is also authentic and reliable.
