Hadith 679

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَزَالُ قَوْمٌ يَتَأَخَّرُونَ عَنِ الصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ حَتَّى يُؤَخِّرَهُمُ اللَّهُ فِي النَّارِ " .
Aishah reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying the people will continue to keep themselves away from the front row until Allah will keep them away (from the front) in the Hell-fire.

679. Commentary:
This ruling is specific to men, and in it there is a warning for those who, out of laziness and indolence, remain behind the first row. Allah will place them in the rear ranks of Hell... or He will not include them among those who enter Paradise first... or it also means that when Allah, exalted is He, removes the sinners from Hell, He will remove them last. «اللهم انا نسألك العفو والعافية»
