حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، " أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ بَعْضُهُ عَلَيَّ " .
Aishah said; the prophet ﷺ prayed in a single (piece of) cloth whose one part was upon me.
Brief Explanation
It is thus established that it is permissible for a large sheet or blanket, etc., to cover part of the praying person and part of his wife, even if she is in her menstrual period; there is no harm in this. For details, see (Sunan Abu Dawood, Hadith 369, 370).
