Hadith 611

Another version of this tradition transmitted through a different chain of narrators by Ibn Abbas says: “He took my head or the hair of my head and made me stand on his right side”.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
611. Commentary:
➊ This affirms the virtue of Ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhuma); it is stated that even in his early years, he was eager to observe the practices of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
➋ It is permissible to appoint as imam a person who is already performing his own prayer, even if he did not intend to lead as imam.
➌ At times, it is permissible to establish congregation (jama‘ah) for tahajjud or voluntary (nafl) prayers.
➍ The congregation of two people is also valid, and in such a case, both will stand in the same row, side by side.
➎ If a necessary correction is possible during the prayer, there is no harm in making it and in accepting it.
