باب مَا جَاءَ فِي الْبِنَاءِChapter: Regarding building.
Hadith 5236

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , وَهَنَّادٌ الْمَعْنَى , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ , عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ بِإِسْنَادِهِ بِهَذَا , قَالَ : مَرَّ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ نُعَالِجُ خُصًّا لَنَا وَهَى , فَقَالَ : مَا هَذَا ؟ , فَقُلْنَا : خُصٌّ لَنَا وَهَى فَنَحْنُ نُصْلِحُهُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَا أَرَى الْأَمْرَ إِلَّا أَعْجَلَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ .
The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by al-Amash through a different chain of narrators. This version has: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came upon me when we were repairing our cottage that was broken. He asked: What is this? We replied: This cottage of ours has broken and we are repairing it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I see that the command is quicker than that.
