Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet ﷺ said: When you hear. . . . (Musa's version has): When a man says people have perished, he is the one who has suffered that fate most. Abu Dawud said: Malik said: If he says that out of sadness for the decadence of religion which he sees among the people, I do not think there is any harm in that. If he says that out of self-conceit and servility of the people, it is an abominable act which has been prohibited.

1؎ : The meaning is that when a person continuously mentions the faults and evils of others, and with his tongue keeps speaking about people being involved in corruption and their destruction and ruin, then such a person, due to the sin that afflicts him because of this action, is most deserving of destruction and ruin himself. And at times, he may also fall prey to self-conceit.
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
Benefits and Issues: Undoubtedly, no matter how righteous a person may be on his own, if he falls into the trap of self-admiration and arrogance due to satanic deception, then he is the one most likely to fall into destruction, as has been mentioned in the previous hadith 4901. Therefore, one should always avoid speaking boastful and evil words.

Anas (RA) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was journeying (along with his Companions). Some of them had observed the fast whereas the others had broken it. Those who did not fast girded up their loins and worked, but the observers of the fast were too weak to work. Upon this he (the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) ) said: Today the breakers of the fast have gone with the reward.

Hadith Commentary: Vocabulary of the Hadith: (a) Tahazzama al-muftiroon: Those who were not fasting girded up their loins. (b) They became ready and alert for service. (c) They adopted resolve and caution. Benefits and Issues: The fasting individuals, due to their weakness and frailty, were unable to perform even their own tasks, whereas those who were not fasting accomplished both their own work and the work of the fasting individuals. In this way, by serving the fasting people, they earned greater reward.
