Narrated Umar ibn al-Khattab: Masruq said: I met Umar ibn al-Khattab (Allah be pleased with him) who said: Who are you? I replied: Masruq ibn al-Ajda'. Umar then said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: al-Ajda' (mutilated) is a devil.

Benefits and Issues:
The literal meaning of (ajda‘) is "cut off" or "mutilated." Just as in Urdu, in Arabic too, the phrase "nose cut off" is used in the sense of dishonor or disgrace. However, deprivation of other limbs (for example: a‘raj, lame) does not carry this negative connotation. Therefore, it is better to avoid such a name.
