حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، " أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى رَجُلًا يَتْبَعُ حَمَامَةً ، فَقَالَ : شَيْطَانٌ يَتْبَعُ شَيْطَانَةً " .
Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a man pursuing a pigeon. He said: A devil is pursuing a female devil.

1؎: That is, both are devils; the one who flies pigeons is a devil because he is heedless of and indifferent to Allah, and the pigeon is a devil because it has become the cause of the flyer’s heedlessness.
