حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، " أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى رَجُلًا يَتْبَعُ حَمَامَةً ، فَقَالَ : شَيْطَانٌ يَتْبَعُ شَيْطَانَةً " .
Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a man pursuing a pigeon. He said: A devil is pursuing a female devil.

Pigeon racing, quail fighting, cockfighting, and similar activities are all unlawful occupations. However, if they are kept at home for the purpose of trade or as adornment, then it is permissible.
