Hadith 4907

حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي الزَّرْقَاءِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ , وَزَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، أَنَّ أُمَّ الدَّرْدَاءِ ، قَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا يَكُونُ اللَّعَّانُونَ شُفَعَاءَ وَلَا شُهَدَاءَ " .
Abu al-Darda said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Men given to cursing will not be witnesses or intercessors.

Brief Explanation
1؎ : The meaning is that he cannot be considered a member of the ummah of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, because on the Day of Resurrection, the ummah of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam will intercede for and bear witness over other communities.
