حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَوَالِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : خَيْرُ الْمَجَالِسِ أَوْسَعُهَا " , قال أَبُو دَاوُد : هُوَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ .
Narrated Abu Saeed al-Khudri: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: The best places to sit are those which provide most room. Abu Dawud said: The name of Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Amr is Abdur-Rahman bin Amr bin Abi 'Umrat al-Ansari.

If there are many individuals in a gathering, then good manners and dignity require that the circle be widened.
And if, in such actions, the intention of following the command of the Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is included, then the reward is increased.
