حَدَّثَنَا النُّفَيْلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَابُوسُ بْنُ أَبِي ظَبْيَانَ ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ الْهَدْيَ الصَّالِحَ ، وَالسَّمْتَ الصَّالِحَ ، وَالِاقْتِصَادَ ، جُزْءٌ مِنْ خَمْسَةٍ وَعِشْرِينَ جُزْءًا مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ " .
Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet ﷺ said: Good way, dignified good bearing and moderation are the twenty-fifth part of Prophecy.
Brief Explanation
1؎ : The meaning is that these qualities have been granted by Allah Ta'ala to the Prophets (alayhimussalam), therefore, follow them in adopting these traits. It does not mean that prophethood is something composed of parts, and whoever possesses these qualities will possess some portions of prophethood, because prophethood is not something acquired; rather, it is an honor from Allah, and He bestows this honor upon whomever He wills among His servants.
