Anas said: A man asked: where is my father, Messenger of Allah? He replied! Your father is in Hell. When he turned his back, he said: My father and your father are in Hell.

Brief Explanation
1؎: Imam Nawawi states that it is clearly evident from this that the people of Fatrah (those between ‘Isa alayhis salam and before the advent of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) — if they were polytheists, then they are inhabitants of Hell, because the call of Ibrahim had reached them. Regarding the parents of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, this hadith is an explicit text. What ‘Allamah Suyuti and others have written, that Allah ta‘ala resurrected them or that they believed and then died, is merely based on fabricated and invented narrations. The Imams of hadith, such as Daraqutni, Jurqani, Ibn Shahin, Ibn ‘Asakir, Ibn Nasir, Ibn al-Jawzi, Suhayli, Qurtubi, Muhibb al-Tabari, Ibn Sayyid al-Nas, Ibrahim al-Halabi, and others, have declared these ahadith to be lies, fabrications, and forgeries. ‘Allamah Ibrahim Halabi has written a separate book on this subject. Similarly, Mulla ‘Ali Qari, in his Sharh Fiqh Akbar and in a separate book, has established that the claim of the faith of the parents of the Messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is absolutely incorrect. In any case, one should not delve too deeply into this issue, but rather be concerned about one’s own salvation.
Explanation & Benefits

Benefits and Issues:
➊ Without faith and deeds, mere lineage and kinship are not a cause for salvation.

➋ All such narrations in which it is mentioned that the parents of the Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) were brought back to life and accepted Islam are weak and not valid as proof.

➌ In this matter, silence is better than engaging in debate and discussion.
